I wanted to like it more but between the multiple proofreading errors and the guessable story stopped me from doing so。 A couple things I did love, the thesis of one of the characters and how it was taken by the members of the friend party。 As well as the take on the effects of bullying/harassment on teen girls。 It it wouldn’t be one id recommend really, those concepts are interesting though。
Brandi,
Not bad but not what I would consider a thriller really。 More of a lifetime movie vibe。

It was just okAnother story about mean girls and the mean moms behind them。 The ending was very predictable。 No twist here at all。

After a tragic accident。 Kate and her daughter Alex relocate to Florida for a new start。 Kate quickly makes friends with the three women who seem to lead all school activities。 Alex, however, gets off to a bad start with their daughters and is viciously bullied。 She hides most of the bullying from her mother while making a video diary describing how she is treated。 That will lead to a not so surprising conclusion to this thriller。I liked many things about Lovely Girls。 Alex is creative, talented After a tragic accident。 Kate and her daughter Alex relocate to Florida for a new start。 Kate quickly makes friends with the three women who seem to lead all school activities。 Alex, however, gets off to a bad start with their daughters and is viciously bullied。 She hides most of the bullying from her mother while making a video diary describing how she is treated。 That will lead to a not so surprising conclusion to this thriller。I liked many things about Lovely Girls。 Alex is creative, talented and brave。 Kate tries to do the right thing but is misled by Alex。 Her new relationship with a local chef is funny and romantic。 I found it hard to believe that the school officials were so clueless about the bullying。 Hundreds of copies of a disturbing news story are all spread all over the gym and no one notices? A team coach favors an attractive student and no one complains? A mother and daughter move to another town because of horrific bullying? If a neighbor without a child in the school can try to warn Kate, why hasn’t thenadministration noticed? 3 stars。Thank you to NetGalley, Thomas & Mercer and Margot Hunt for this ARC。 。。。more
Celena,
Very easy and fun to read。 Loved the mystery of the story。 Although scenarios were slightly exaggerated and unrealistic, the story was very engaging throughout。 No fluff。 I think the chapters written from the video camera perspective were interesting, and I think that the author embedded it well and made it flow。
Amanda,
So thankful that I got to read and review and advanced copy of this book! Lovely Girls is a twisty psychological thriller about a trio of popular mean girls whose bullying quickly spirals out of control。 This book was hard to put down and I just had to stay up late to finish it! I’d definitely recommend it if you are a fan of the genre。

ThrillerGood book about being observant even in a situation that is not ideal。 Mean girls can be so muliputive and cruel
Sharon,
A mother and daughter move to what appears to be an idyllic town。 However, looks can be deceiving and Kate and her daughter, Alex, soon find that there’s an undercurrent of malice。I found this to be an easy read that moves along at a decent pace。 It’s not an exciting read, but, a decent one an perfect for holiday / beach read。 More a domestic drama than thriller。Thanks to NetGalley and Thomas Mercer for the opportunity to preview。
Addey,
I don’t write reviews because I don’t。 But this mom made me mad and was dumb。
Kim,
Easy read。 Little predictable but I still enjoyed it!
Beth Hamnett,
Enjoyable read I liked the fact that the book talked about bullying and the effects it can have on the people that are bullied!
Cindy Mahr Lower,
Lovely Girls are actually nasty girls!Mean-girl mentality, taken to the extreme! We’ve all experienced mean girls in school, unless you were one the mean girls! A great read!
Cindi Redcay,
A quick and entertaining contemporary read! A nice tale spun with enough intrigue to keep one involved to the very end! Check it out right now!

It was still good, just didn't seem to flow quite as easily。 And the reveal in the epilogue was fairly predictable。*Overall, this was quick and engaging, and certainly disturbing。 A good read for fans of domestic thrillers! 。。。more

3。5/5 -This was quite a page-turner。 Mean girls with mean moms。 A mother and daughter duo new to the town。 The mother hopes they can start fresh after a tragedy。 The daughter is upset about the move and after a rocky encounter with the mean girl trio and knows this is just the beginning。 The mom, Kate, gets along with the other moms though。 But how long does that last? I don't mind the conventional and oft-used plot devices, like flashback or video entries etc (that were used here) but I didn't find the way they were used as being particularly clever。 It also didn't help that the cast of characters weren't much to begin with。 I am also not sure whether the book wanted to make some kind of statement or observation about teens, cliques and toxic friendships。 Maybe there was some attempt there? If yes, it lacked conviction。 Or if it was never really meant to be that deep, then, then there wasn't enough misdirection to really be a thrilling whodunit。 But, as I said in the beginning, it still got me reading page after page and wondering how it all goes down。 Pick it up if you want a quick read and don't really care much about a complex plot or deep character study。 。。。more

LOVED THIS BOOK! I got this on a Kindle First Reads and it was just such a great thriller that I couldn’t put down, especially as we got closer to the end。 A new life, a new town, and crazy, neurotic high school girls! I also love how the mom finds a new man who is a good guy! In fact, all the men in this book were good guys, well except for the tennis coach rapist! hahaha and I don’t mean laughing at that, but just that it came out that way。 It’s a good story with a good ending。
Mimi,
Fast ReadFast paced。 I feel Margot Hunt captured “the mean girls” beautifully。 Hunt makes you wonder……。 are you born mean or are you a product of your environment?
Mimi,
Very fast, readable book。 Nothing original or terribly memorable but it was a good time filler。 I’d try the author again。

I could hardly put it down。 It is very fast paced。 The dynamic between Kate and Alex was very real and relatable。 I enjoyed the structure of the book — the chapters alternating between Kate’s point of view and Alex’s video diary。 You should definitely read this book and the author’s other books because they are all exciting domestic thrillers。 。 Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy of this book。 All opinions are my own。 。。。more
